We are going to begin learning about the Northeast Region. You are going to be given a state in this region to research and complete a project over.

Requirements:
1. Print or draw and color the state flag.
2. Name the capital.
3. List the major industries
4. Major landforms
5. Major lakes and rivers
6. Climate
7. Natural resources
8. The year they joined the union and where in the order of the 50 states they fall (such as Kansas is the 34th state to join the union)
9. Make a map of your state according to its topography.

Hello new 4th graders! My name is Mrs. Heins and I will be your teacher this year.

The first day of school is coming up fast! On August 17th you will wake up early and bring a backpack full of school supplies into your new classroom! Our room number is 139 and we are located at the end of the 5th grade hallway.

We are going to have a wonderful year learning new things together. Fourth graders learn about U.S. states and capitals, they become masters of multiplication and division, they design scientific investigations, and much much more. Also, expect to spend lots of time practicing your reading skills and developing amazing comprehension.

First Full Day of School

Whew!!! BUSY DAY... HERE IS A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT WE DID..

We had our first lunch together, we went to recess twice, we finished our time capsules, learned the playground rules, Scott came back to school, we went over the school handbook, we looked at our new reading books, we read the first story, learned vocabulary words, we went over shapes in math, we have been learning the days of each month, checked out books from the library, typed in Keyboarding, we built pictures with the pattern blocks, and we learned about inferring..... whew....

What a great day!!!!

The first day half day of school is over and we accomplished a lot. We managed to put away a ton of supplies, get to know our classmates better, attend an assembly, eat some Bullpup cookies, and make our Mini-Mes.
